An alert watches for one thing and emails your research space when it
happens. Alerts is where they all live, and where you can make any of
them.

What you can watch

Type Fires when
Price level A market’s latest hourly close goes above, or below, a level you set
Price move A market’s latest hourly close is more than a set percent away, in either direction, from its close 24 hours earlier
Liquidations of a token A liquidation is recorded involving that token, on either side of the trade
New timeline events A curated event is added, optionally filtered by category, protocol or chain

Liquidation watches match the token as collateral seized or debt repaid.
Being liquidated out of an asset and being liquidated into one are both worth
knowing about, so both count.

Timeline watches with no filters set mean “every new event”, which is a
legitimate thing to want.

Price alerts are checked every 15 minutes against the market’s latest
hourly bar, in the token0/token1 units the market page charts. A level is
a price in those units; a move is a percent. The check needs a bar from 24
hours before the latest one to judge a move, so a pool that trades once a day
cannot fire a move alert. A market whose token decimals are not on record is
not measured at all until they are (see
how prices are computed): an alert must never
fire on a price scaled by a guess.

Two places to set one

From the alerts page, where the forms for every type sit together.

In place, on the page you are already looking at: a market page, the
liquidations page for a protocol, the timeline. Those controls are prefilled
with what is in front of you — filter the liquidations page to WETH and the
button offers to watch WETH liquidations on that protocol.

An alert belongs to a space, not to you

When one fires, every member of that space is emailed. That is the point:
a research group watching a protocol should all hear at once, rather than one
person relaying it.

You choose which of your spaces an alert belongs to when you create it.

It fires once

An alert fires, records what it saw, and then stays quiet. It does not fire
again until you re-arm it.

This is deliberate. A threshold that is crossed and re-crossed all afternoon
would otherwise produce an afternoon of email, and the second message tells
you nothing the first did not.

Email arrives on your cadence

Alerts follow the delivery setting on your account — instant, a daily digest,
a weekly digest, or off. There is no separate setting for alerts, and
there deliberately never will be: a second preference is one more thing to
discover and switch off by accident.

Change it on your account page. Every alert email carries a one-click
unsubscribe, and the only thing it turns off is this cadence.

Your allowance

One allowance across every type — prices, liquidations and timeline events
share it. The number is on the alerts page, and shown before you hit it.

What is not offered

Reserve-level alerts on lending protocols. The panels such an alert would
read rebuild monthly, so it could only tell you about a level crossed weeks
ago. An alert that implies a freshness it does not have is worse than no
alert, so it is not offered until there is a cheaper live read behind it.
